Nursing Services Director
A private hospital in the corporate area urgently requires the services of: Director, Nursing Services.
The Director of Nursing Services formulates policies and procedures, directs and administers the Nursing programme of the Hospital, maintains standards of patient care and advises medical staff, department heads and CEO in matters related to nursing services.
Qualification & Experience
- MSC in Nursing Administration and midwifery from an accredited tertiary institution;
- Certificate in 1st level Nursing Administration and General Management from a recognized tertiary institution.
Requirements
- Six (6) to eight (8) years of management practice and clinical practice;
- Registration with the Nursing Council of Jamaica in General Nursing and Midwifery.
Special skills and competency required
- Sound knowledge of the National Health Policy, Industrial and Human Relations;
- Working knowledge of Jamaica Labour Laws especially as it relates to the nursing profession;
- High level of confidentiality;
- Working knowledge of word-processing and spreadsheet applications;
- Sound knowledge of Strategic Planning and Implementation processes;
- Good report writing skills;
- Excellent interpersonal team building and supervisory skills;
- Ability to maintain professional standards and communicate effectively;
- Sound judgement and experience in planning and organizing in order to accomplish goals.
